Malls, Showrooms and Hotels
Fit-out, facade and refurbishment for malls, showrooms, hotels, banquets and townships.
In commercial and hospitality buildings, the interior is part of the product. A showroom has to be ready for its launch day, a hotel room for the wedding season, a mall unit for the festival rush. Delays cost sales, and a poor finish costs reputation. We deliver fit-outs and refurbishments that look right, finish on time and cause as little disruption to trading as possible.
What these clients usually need
| Building | Typical scope |
|---|---|
| Showrooms and retail outlets | Shopfront glazing and aluminium frames, ceilings and lighting details, flooring, partitions, signage bands, blinds |
| Malls | Unit fit-outs, common-area refurbishment, atrium and facade work, glazing, ceilings |
| Hotels | Lobby and corridor ceilings, flooring, partitions, glazing, room refurbishment, facade |
| Banquet halls and restaurants | Decorative ceilings, acoustic and finishing details, flooring, glazing |
| Townships | Common-area work, gate and entrance structures, glazing, cladding, clubhouse interiors |
| Maintenance | Scheduled upkeep of glass, ceilings, floors and facades |
How we work in trading environments
Speed through preparation. A fast fit-out is a well-prepared one. We settle layouts, finishes and long-lead items such as glass early, order them first, and write a clear day-by-day programme.
Phasing and hours. In malls and hotels we work in phases and at night or off-peak hours where rules require, with hoardings, protected routes and agreed noise limits.
Landlord and brand rules. Many outlets follow a brand's drawings and a landlord's fit-out manual. We follow both, supply the method statements and insurance details they ask for, and keep the paperwork tidy.
Clean, safe sites. Customers and guests are close by. We protect floors and neighbouring units, keep the area clean, and keep tools and materials out of public spaces.
Quality that shows. In these buildings, finish is the product. We check lines, joints, alignment, paint and lighting positions carefully.
Design points
- Shopfronts. Large glazed fronts in aluminium frames need accurate framing, suitable glass, and neat door hardware. See glazing and choosing glass.
- Ceilings and lighting. Layered gypsum ceilings, cove lighting and metal ceilings shape the mood of a space. See false ceilings.
- Flooring. High-footfall areas need durable, slip-resistant floors. Hotels and showrooms often use wood-finish or vinyl planks for warmth. See flooring.
- Facade and signage. ACP cladding, glazing and signage bands set the first impression. See ACP and facade cladding.
- Acoustics. Banquet halls and restaurants need sound control as well as style.
- Fire safety. Exits, sprinklers, detectors and fire-rated elements must stay compliant. We follow the building's fire design.
- Daylight and privacy. Blinds and glass choices control glare and privacy in hotel rooms, offices and showrooms. See blinds.
A typical showroom project
- Brief and site visit. Brand guidelines, layout drawings, landlord rules, deadline.
- Programme. Working backwards from the opening date.
- Approvals and orders. Landlord approval, long-lead orders, samples.
- Hoarding and mobilisation.
- Civil and services first-fix.
- Framing, glazing and ceilings.
- Flooring and painting.
- Fittings, signage and cleaning.
- Snagging and handover in time for stock and launch.
Comparing proposals
In commercial work, quotes can look similar and hide big differences. Our guide to reading a fit-out quotation shows what to compare: scope, materials, exclusions, programme and payment stages.
Keeping the finish fresh
High-traffic buildings wear fast. A maintenance plan keeps glazing clean and sealed, ceilings free from stains, floors in good order and facades presentable. See maintenance contracts and facade maintenance.
